Summary: The Feline Manager will be a self motivated individual with a shelter administration and feline animal care background. He/she will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact tactfully and successfully with the volunteers, public, and other staff. Computer skills should include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. College is preferred; however, animal related and management skills will be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
· The Feline Manager will report directly to the Shelter Manager and work in collaboration with the Canine Manager and SARL staff Veterinarian
The Feline Manager’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
· Oversee the scheduling and coverage of volunteer staffing during open hours and animal care shifts including animal care givers and adoption counselors
· Supervise and train volunteers for Kitty City day to day operations and assist with the recruitment new volunteers through the Volunteer Coordinator
· Inspect the interior and exterior of the shelter and animals, daily, insuring that all animals are healthy and the shelter is appropriately ready for public visits
· Act as lead adoption counselor for all feline adoptions
· Oversee the proper cat and kitten medication administration in cooperation with the staff veterinary. Schedule cat intake exams and surgeries through the staff veterinarian on SARL vetting days
· Assist Shelter Manager with the review of all shelter feline procedures for compliance recommending changes, developing written policies and procedures as needed
· Coordinate the ordering of all feline supplies and forms. maintaining proper inventory.
· Maintain up to date procedures for day to day animal care and the recovery of injured or sick animals. Attend the NH Federation quarterly conferences and other humane education programs
· Maintain statistics of intakes and adoptions of the SARL Feline population
· Keep Petpoint (animal management system) up to date, this includes keeping the SARL web site current as it relates to cats available for adoption.
· The Feline Manager will be the “go to,” person for feline emergency situations
· Provide an open door policy whenever possible focusing on customer/client services including telephone coverage with a 24 hour return call response
· Manage all Feline Care and Adoption Staff
· Assist as needed in the areas of the Kennel, Vetting and Development as requested by the Shelter Manager.
This is a part time position of 30 -35 hours, weekends required, reporting directly to the Shelter Manager.

Summary: The Feline Adoption Counselor will be a self motivated individual with knowledge and familiarity of felines in general and a strong desire to be a major part in the placement of these deserving animals into new homes. Shelter, feline animal care and vetting experience is a plus but not required. On the job training by a Senior Adoption Counselor will be provided but the individual must be comfortable with making decisions and have the ability to think proactively so that strong and successful adoptions can be made. This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to interact tactfully and successfully with the volunteers, public, and other staff. Computer skills should include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The Feline Adoption Counselor will report directly to the Feline Manager and work in collaboration with other feline staff.
The Feline Adoption Counselor’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
· Familiarizing themselves with all our Feline population so that appropriate adoption matches can be made
· Interviewing prospective adopters to make sure that they meet the guidelines as established by SARL as well as promoting the best possible match between adopter and cat, using their interviewing skills and knowledge of the individual cats and kittens.
· Instructing adopters on the proper introduction into the new home and post adoption care.
· Reviewing medical records of the adopted cat/kitten and provide guidance and instructions on future healthcare to the adopter.
· Assist Feline Manager with On-Site and Off-Site Adoption Promotions and any SARL Sponsored Events for Cat Adoptions.
· Interact with volunteers and staff, assisting with care and feeding if necessary
· Follow up by email or phone within 3 days of the completed adoption for the express purpose of solving any issues that may have arisen during the animal introduction into the new home.
· Return any phone calls from the public inquiring about available cats and kittens or responding to previous adopter’s questions or needs...
· Provide an open and customer service oriented atmosphere to the public.
This is a part time position of 15-20 hours, Thursday through Sunday during our Open Hours for Adoptions.
