Safe Home Safe Pet
The Salem Animal Rescue League offers a unique program to qualified families in our community in need of an immediate safe place for their domestic pets in the event of a domestic violence situation or an imminent foreclosure of their home sending them into a public/private shelter.
- This is a short term program designed to assist qualified individuals who have been displaced from their home and needs a place to care for their pets while a permanent solution is worked out.
- Many times pets are caught in the confusion of a quick move and if given the opportunity for a safe haven while the family works out their crisis they can resume ownership and continue to care for their pet.
- Families must meet certain qualifications to use this program and victims of domestic violence should work through their local service agencies and have them contact us.
- Homelessness is a very serious concern to our organization and we are dedicated to reaching out to our community when the need arises.
